Galangal A Substitute for Its Relative Ginger

Galangal is a substitute for its relative, ginger. It has a really strong flavor and may be used for many of the health remedies that ginger is used for. 

Ginger is a good substitute for galangal when you want something that does not have a flavor that is as strong. Glanagal is often used in Asian cooking.

Vitamin K for Blood Coagulation Clotting

Vitamin K is important in the body for blood clotting. Without adequate supplies of Vitamin K, blood will not coagulate as it should. In fact, the name Vitamin K comes this particular property of the vitamin.

If people are taking blood thinning medications, they may sometimes be given Vitamin K in order to balance out the effects of the blood thinners.

Vitamin K is also important for other aspects of health. Ensure that you eat green and leafy vegetables on a regular basis as these are a good source of Vitamin K. There are other food sources which can give your body the Vitamin K you need as well.
